The Covid-19 emergency causes many restrictions on travel both in Italy and abroad. The pandemic is having a huge impact on the aviation and air travel sector. Obviously the situation is constantly evolving and we always invite you to evaluate it. From 3 June, travel is freely allowed for any reason to and from the following states:
- Member States of the European Union
- Andorra, Monaco;
- Republic of San Marino and Vatican City State.
From June 3, people entering or returning to Italy from these states and territories are no longer subject to sanitary surveillance and fiduciary isolation for 14 days, unless they have stayed in different countries in the 14 days prior to entry into Italy.
From 3 to 15 June, journeys to and from states not indicated above continue to be subject to articles 4 and 5 of the Prime Minister’s Decree of 17 May 2020: it is possible to move to / from the States and territories not listed only for reasons of absolute urgency, work, health; there is an obligation of fiduciary isolation for 14 days upon returning to Italy.
To answer the questions we ask ourselves about where, when and how you will be able to travel, we can use the interactive map of air travel abroad, published by the IATA international aviation agency. IATA appeals to governments for relief measures to support industry in the face of the collapse of travel demand, due to the COVID-19 pandemic and mandatory closure of borders and restrictions on mobility Each country, in fact, adopts its own measures and it is really difficult to have an overview of where you can and where you cannot go, what borders have been opened in the meantime and in which states it is still not possible to enter. An authoritative and valuable help for travelers comes from the map created by IATA, the international association that brings together all the major airlines in the world, in collaboration with Timatic. This interactive guide summarizes all international travel regulations related to the Coronavirus crisis (SARS-CoV-2) and related restrictions. Just click on the country of your interest to view all the detailed and official information, which is constantly updated.
With an aphorism it is possible to enclose in a few words the very meaning of traveling, of the comparison with people and cultures different from ours, also motivating others to embark on a journey of discovery of the world. Today travel is within everyone’s reach and rather comfortable, but some aphorisms about travel as a metaphor for life are still valid, motivating us to go on, to see what is new outside our reality, opening our minds to live fully the unique experience of discovering what we don’t know.
“A journey does not begin the moment we leave nor does it end the moment we reach our destination. It actually starts much earlier and never ends, as the tape of memories continues to flow through even after we stop. It is the travel virus, an essentially incurable disease” – Ryszard Kapuscinski
